Have you just had surgery and in need of Post-operative Physiotherapy

Having surgery is a major decision that can have life changing results. A successful outcome is not only dependent on the surgery being successful, but also that you receive the right rehabilitation not only to strengthen the muscles around the operated joint, but also to rehabilitate the muscles in the rest of the leg.

Most people spend some time protecting the painful or injured limb and this leads to a gradual weakening of the muscles in the entire limb due to not being used as much as normal. It is vital that all your muscles that helps to support the operated areas as well as the joints that helps support the operated areas return to their optimal function.

Research suggests for knee and hip replacement surgery that you should have at least 6 weeks of supervised rehabilitation to ensure the optimal outcome of the surgery, for other surgeries such as ACL reconstruction or Hip Arthroscopies the rehabilitation can be more complex and requires longer follow up periods. At Indergaard Physiotherapy we offer rehabilitation packages to support you in your recovery. If you would like more information about how we can help you then please let us know and we will be more than happy to speak with you.

Did you know that what you do before surgery is as important as what you do after? If you are going in for surgery soon, we can help to restore your mobility and strength to get you ready for the surgery. The better you are before going in for surgery, usually the recovery is smoother and a more successful outcome is achieved.
