Have your hurt your foot or ankle?

When you get problems in the foot and ankle, it often has a huge impact on your life. A sprained ankle or pain in the achilles will alter how you walk, which can become very limiting in how you enjoy life.

So getting it looked at and finding the source of your problem is very important.

The foot and ankle area is made up of many bones, muscles and ligaments that all need to function properly together to enable your foot to take your weight and also be able to adjust to the ground that you walk on.

We know from both our experience and from the research, that even the simple ankle sprain can cause problems further down the line if it isn’t rehabilitated properly after injury.

Statistics show us that as many as 40% of people who sprain their ankle, will develop hip, knee or back pain within 2 years of spraining their ankle. So making sure the ankle is back to normal and functioning again is very important for your health and wellbeing.

We are also experts in Leeds at treating tendinopathies or tendon problems – the most common of these are achilles tendon problems. There are a few tendons around the foot and ankle that can develop problems, often due to a single event that has overloaded a tendon but most common are the problems brought on by repetitive overuse.

In your first consultation we will be able to quickly and efficiently diagnose your tendon or foot problem, and put the correct strategies in place to make sure you have the optimal treatment for getting full function back in the foot and ankle as quickly as possible.
