Our Physiotherapy led Pilates classes at Selby and Garforth are adapted from the original Pilates methods. Pilates is a gentle form of physical exercise that strengthens and coaches core muscles, improves flexibility and posture. By using exercises suitable for those experiencing postural, spinal and musculoskeletal conditions we can greatly improve people’s function. It is also widely used in postoperative rehabilitation and sport specific strength and conditioning.
Led by a fully-trained physiotherapist with expert knowledge of the musculoskeletal system and rehabilitation, it allows the exercises to be performed safely, effectively and modified to the appropriate level.
There are numerous benefits to be gained from performing physiotherapy led Pilates. Some include:
- Improved posture and core stability
- Increased muscular strength and flexibility
